This is a link to the 10-minute TED Talk by Wael Ghonim that I mention in the video. It’s from March, 2011, just after President Hosni Mubarak resigned from office. I found it amazing at the time that this talk from Cairo, Egypt, was online and available to the world within a few days of when it was delivered.

My name is Steve Goldberg. I am excited to be teaching students at Carolina Friends School about history starting in August 2022. I had been taking a break from my 20+ year career as a high school teacher to share the story of Abe Piasek, a 90-year old Holocaust survivor. I've shared Abe's story with more than 4,000 people (over 80 presentations).
